Male infertility reasons and solutions with Ayurveda
Reasons of male infertility
1) Spermatogenesis defect – Spermatogenesis is the process through which sperms are created. In addition to a good hormonal balance, this necessitates an ideal temperature that is 1-2 degrees cooler than the average body temperature (the primary reason the scrotum is situated “outside” the body).Congenital spermatogenesis is inhibited by birth abnormalities such as undescended testes.
2) Illnesses caused by autosomal (chromosomal) genes, such as Kartagener Syndrome, in which ciliary function (mobility) and sperm motility are lost.
3) Hypospadias is a genetic condition that prevents sperm from depositing high in the vagina because the penis’ entrance is on the bottom rather than the tip.
4) Thermal factor: Spermatogenesis may be hampered by elevated scrotal warmth, such as that caused by varicocoele.
5) Infections – Prolonged bacterial or viral systemic infections have a negative impact on sperm quality.
6) Other contributing variables include general debilitating illnesses, inadequate nutrition, obesity, excessive drinking and drug use, smoking, endocrine and immunological issues, physical obstruction of the efferent ducts, and iatrogenic factors like radiation and antidepressants.

Being a comprehensive and scientific medical system, Ayurveda offers natural treatments for male infertility in addition to addressing the underlying medical issues, such as low sperm count and motility and also emotional stress.

1) Ashwagandha is a well-known plant that supports both physical and mental health and is categorised in Ayurveda as a rasayana (rejuvenating herb). It has been used as natural Ayurvedic treatment for male infertility and its underlying reasons for millennia. The herb’s aphrodisiac, immunomodulatory, adaptogenic, and anti-inflammatory characteristics aid in reducing the symptoms of stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, tiredness, general sluggishness, weakness, and lethargy. It does wonders for your stress levels by restoring your sexual arousal.
2) Shilajeet  is a sticky substance that is mostly found in the rocks of the Himalayas and is a wonderful restorative and rejuvenating ingredient. It evolves over many years as a result of the gradual decay of plants. It aids in cleansing the body’s channels and aids in nourishing the dhatus (body tissues). It enhances the neural system, increases strength and endurance by increasing the production of reproductive fluids, and promotes balanced and harmonious health.

3) Safed Musli , is a plant whose dried roots have been used for generations in Ayurvedic medicine to treat male infertility and promote overall wellness in both men and women. Due to its spermatogenic , anti-stress, and antioxidant qualities, it aids in improving both the amount and quality of sperm. Additionally, it raises testosterone levels, which boosts blood flow to the genitals even more.

4) Gokshura , in Ayurveda, gokshura (also known as gokharu) is used for a variety of purposes, including an aphrodisiac, a palliative, and a tonic to combat weariness and lethargy. Gokshura contains active phytochemicals that increase sperm quality and quantity as well as testosterone levels. This could aid in reducing male infertility issues. It is even recommended for bodybuilding to enhance athletes’ performance along with other strong medicines like Ashwagandha.
5) Black gram, Cook 2 cups of milk and 1 tablespoon of black gram (chana) until the milk is totally absorbed. Including 1 teaspoon of sugar. This is a good breakfast option. The Ayurvedic texts describe this as a way to increase both the amount and quality of sperm.
