The spectrum of light that our eyes can see is made up of several wavelengths that are contained inside white light. Blue light is among the wavelengths.White light is produced by the sun.  However, the artificial blue light we are exposed to through our smartphones, tablets, and laptops can cause eye strain, inflammation, dry eye, weariness, headaches, and insomnia. This is due to the fact that many people in the digital era spend countless hours in front of computer screens or smartphone screens, and our eyes were not designed to withstand such a high level of unnatural blue light exposure. Blurred vision is one of the hallmark signs of macular degeneration, which results in visual loss. Too much blue light exposure not only harms our eyes but also interferes with our sleep cycles. Blue light exposure before bedtime interferes with our ability to make melatonin, preventing us from falling asleep. The quality sleep we need for our bodies to heal and re-energize for the day ahead.
