AN EFFECTIVE AYURVEDIC EYE WASH ROUTINE

Have you ever considered that routinely washing your eyes is a crucial component of self-care? An essential component of Ayurvedic self-care is cleansing your eyes. The core of Ayurveda is developing healthy practises that promote optimal health. Eye health can be improved, dry eyes can be eased, eye issues can be avoided or reversed, and eyesight can be optimised by maintaining clean, well-nourished eyes. Unless there is a health issue that has to be addressed, it is recommended for most individuals to wash their eyes once or twice a week.

  1.        Fill an eye cup halfway with high-quality, organic, additive-free rose water (also known as rose hydrosol), then top it off with warm (not hot), pure water to wash your eyes. With your eye closed, stoop forward and insert the cup into your eye socket. When you tilt your head back and elevate your head/eye cup upward, the diluted rose water will fill the space inside your closed eye. After that, blink a few times while opening your eye and letting it soak in the rosewater for a short while. Make sure you’re not doing this with eye makeup on.
  2.         Use triphala-infused eye wash as an alternative. Haritaki, bibhitaki, and amalaki are the three herbs that make up triphala . To prepare triphala eye wash, combine 12 tsp of triphala powder with 8 ounces of boiled, filtered water in a glass or ceramic cup. Triphala and boiling water should be well mixed before being set aside to cool. It is advised to prepare this in the evening and store it overnight for use in the morning. Alternately, prepare it in the morning and store it for use in the evening. Usually, an hour is sufficient to allow all of the sediment to completely settle and to fully saturate the solution with the nutritious benefits of triphala. Use the cheesecloth-based strainer as directed above.

This routine will help you get liberate not only the dust or particle stuck inside your eyes, but also clear and enhance your vision. Do get a try!!
